Method of Brushing
Although most people will probably have a habit of holding a toothbrush with five-finger, such a grip may increase the possibility of damaging the gum with considerable force. Toothbrush should be held like pencils or chopsticks. By doing this, you can protect your gum and can remove plaque firmly without unnecessary force.

The middle part of the handle of a toothbrush should not be held and the tip of the handle that has no bristles should be held. By holding the tip, the toothbrush can be moved smoothly and can be easy to reach back teeth.

For the effective plaque control, the consciousness is also important. Instead of moving the toothbrush vaguely, you should do brushing while looking in a mirror with the consciousness of "plaque control". If you have decided the order of brushing, you can do brushing effectively. For example, it will be effective to decide the order by upper jaw and lower jaw as follows.
back surface of molars - back surface of front teeth -
occlusal surface of molars - occlusal surface of front teeth -
front surface of molars - front surface of front teeth

Brushing has basic 3 rules. "Brush should be put over teeth correctly", "Brush should be moved lightly little by little" and "Brush angle should be changed by targets". Although the angle of the brush depends on the brushing manners, the angle should be 45 or 90 degrees to the surface of the tooth. Brushing should be done while being aware that the brush is put over teeth correctly. The head of the toothbrush should be moved with a width of less than 1cm. The wider width the brush runs , the more plaque remains. When you brush the back surface of front teeth or incisors, the adjustment of the brush angle is the most effective. Holding a toothbrush vertically and using the front end and rear end of the head, such parts would be reached easily. For example, when you erase the character of a small space, you may use the corner of the eraser. Similarly, you should use the front end and rear end of the head.
